'Are Ye Dancin', is a filmic poem, and a collaboration with poet Sara Shine. It is a visual response to Sara's poem aired on RTE radio 1 on Sunday Miscellany
in February 2023. The poem is a love story between two women dated roughly in the 1950's and is somewhat evocative of the Gateways Club in London during
the 50's and 60's which was a safe meeting place for gay women and to be themselves. The club was the longest-surviving such club in the world, open by 1931
and legally becoming a members club in 1936. In 1967 it became for women only. It closed on Saturday 21 September 1985. This work is a tribute to that
time in our history, when love had to be hidden out of sight.
